Steam Creates List of Top Releases of April 2019
Today Steam posted to their blog the top 20 selling games for April 2019. This marks a notable change on the platform as they typically do not disclose, or acknowledge these types of lists until the years end. List author Alden noted Steam ” …trying something new” with this post and I wouldn’t be shocked if it became a running segment. Anyways here’s the top 20 selling Steam releases in April 2019.
The following list is generated in a bit of an interesting way so I will just let Steam explain how they did it:
To generate this list, we started by enumerating all the games released between April 1 and April 30. We then looked at revenue earned by each of those games in the first two weeks following that game’s release. From that list, we took the top 20 games by revenue to make our final list. Finally, we sorted the 20 games by release date.
So basically we are seeing the highest two weeks after release revenue earners in April 2019, sorted by release date. Think of it not so much a ranked list but rather an interesting look at opening weeks in April 2019. You can check out the original list here.
