Streamer Accidentally Breaks Tetris World Record

Ever been really good at something that you accidentally break world records? No? Well Twitch streamer Jonas ‘NubbinsGoody’ Neubauer is really good at Tetris and accidentally broke a Tetris world record while attempting to break a completely different one.

Neubauer as reported by NintendoLife, was attempting to set a new speed record for clearing 100 lines of blocks. During an attempt, Neubauer made his way to 300,000 points in a blisteringly fast time. The time of 1:57 was so fast, it beat the previous 300,000 points record by a full two seconds. Neuabauer only realised the record he had set after Twitch chat told him about it (thanks all knowing Twitch chat!).

After crushing out the 300,000 points world record, Neubauer went on to complete his original world record attempt of clearing 100 lines in 3:15. This time was two seconds better than the current record and placed Neubaeur on top of the Tetris SpeedRun leaderboards.

If you want to learn more about Neubauer, you can read this interview with him on Rolling Stones, or check him out in the documentary Ecstasy of Order: The Tetris Masters. Congratulations Neubauer!
