The Dark Tower Trailer
Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series has been around since 1982 and is finally coming to the big screen. Fans of the series got a glimpse of the soon to be released, Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey affair, in the recently released Official The Dark Tower Trailer. The Dark Tower film takes the untraditional approach to book adaptations, choosing to combined portions of all the books in the series into a single film.
The official trailer offers the first chance for fans to see Roland (Idris Elba), the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), and Jake (Tom Taylor) in action. The film’s story (via IMDB):
” The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, roams an Old West-like landscape where “the world has moved on” in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world. ”
While, it remains to be seen how the film will be, initial reactions appear to be mostly positive (going off YouTube upvotes/downvotes). As a result of a long development process, many fans have high expectations that they hope the film will deliver. Either way, The Dark Tower hits theatres August 4, 2017.
I thought the concensus was mostly negative.
