The Division’s Update 1.4 Reveal Delayed

Massive has announced that The Division’s update 1.4 reveal has been delayed indefinitely. Update 1.4 will be pushed out to a public test server once it does launch and will be discussed in a special report broadcast. However, until Massive feels that update 1.4 is where it needs to be, The Division fans will have to wait.

In a forum post published today, Massive announced that the Special Report broadcast on September 13th to reveal The Division’s update 1.4 is cancelled. The developers feel like they “wouldn’t be able to show off all of the content we would like to.” The Public Test Server, which was announced last week was cancelled after “…playing the build with our Elite Task Force it became clear that to have the PTS process be valuable for us in terms of feedback, we would need some more time to include key elements that are critical to the overall Update 1.4 experience.”

Massive believes telling the community about the delay is crucial, “Transparency is something that we know our community wants, and something that we aim to deliver every day,” the developer explained. “In this instance, it does mean that we need to share our schedule and intentions that are subject to shifting throughout the process.” Leaving the community in ” the dark” is not something they see as an option.

The Division’s Update 1.4 is aimed at addressing the games “most pressing issues.” Improving the game starts with 1.4 and will continue with further updates. getting this update right is vital. The Public Test Server is a way forward with improvements, allowing players to test game updates before they go live. So far the PTS has only been announced for the PC.
