Material Depot

After you’ve gotten acquainted with the Medbay, we can start venturing deeper into the Material Depot. In this area, there a bunch of enemies to fight so hopefully you are prepared. Head into the area you visited to turn on the power and you will be inside Material Depot.

Head through the door and towards the stairs. As you’re moving watch out for the Rhino RIG who will jump you here. Once at the bottom of the stairs, you have a couple choices, go straight into the the security checkpoint, right towards the Rhino Rig, or left behind the breakable boxes. Going straight is a good idea if you think you can kill the CREO security enemies for their staff (or other equipment). Killing the a security guard will net you the ” Most Wanted ” achievement. Going right is much safer and has you facing an easier Rhino RIG. For the sake of unlocking a side quest, we are gonna go left.

Optional: Helping Hobbs

Break the boxes on the left and drop down into the area here. On your right, you will find a Loot Pyramid containing an Aggression Amplifier v.1 Implant. Loot it then turn around and head towards the Overcharge symbol. Turns out the Overcharge symbol is on a person whose RIG has run out of juice. This person is a non-hostile NPC named Hobbs. After you juice up Hobbs, he will tell you a little about what is going on. Once you have exhausted Hobbs’ dialogue, he will tell you that he’s going to go to OPS (another name for Medbay). Next time you return to OPS, talk to Hobbs and he will have some goodies for you.

The only place to go from here, is to drop down into the area where the Rhino RIG and Lynx RIG area. Try to time it so you are only fighting them one at a time. Once this little area is clear you will notice and open door and some crates on your right. Don’t bother going there yet, as it leads to the Conveyor Hub area. Instead head left and venture into the huge open room with the shipping containers stacked everywhere.

Optional: Freeing Davey

As you make your way into the giant storage area, along the left – hand wall is an Audio Log (The Nightmare Begins). Grab the audio log and continue on your way. In front of you will Rhino RIG. You don’t have to fight it right away, but can if you want. Where we are headed, is around the corner towards a the stacked containers and what looks to be a door. Head this way, but watch out for the Rhino RIG hiding behind the shiping containers directly across from the Overload panel. Kill the Rhino RIG, Overload the pipe and enter the room here. Inside you will find Davey. Talk to him and he will return to OPS.

Once Davey is back in OPS, talk to him to receive the Madoxinal quest. This quest requires you to find Davey’s “medicine”. The medicine can be found in a later area.

Exploring the Rest of Material Depot

We’ve basically explored most of Material Depot, but there is still a couple of Loot Pyramids you can grab. Head over to the far side of the room where there are stacked containers on both sides (past the stairs and Rhino RIG). Here you can go either left or right along the wall.

Left – takes you past a level 75 Core RIG Power chest, behind some containers towards a Loot Pyramid with 6x Rig Armature Mk II and 6x Cortical Processor Mk II.

Right – takes you behind some crates where a Lynx RIG is hiding. Kill the Lynx RIG and use the EXO – Lift to go up to Discarded Safety Equipment.

Optional: Discarded Safety Equipment

This room is completely optional and probably isn’t the best place to go early game. However, if you feel up for it, make your way past the Security Bots to the very end of the room to collect the Mechanized Counterweight v.2 Implant. If you do this room in early game, your best bet is to simply run past them and die after collecting the Implant.

Enter Conveyor Hub

Now that we’ve gathered everything in Material Depot, we can start making our way to Conveyor Hub the next room to explore. To do this simply head through the large bay door I touched on earlier. This door is located to the right of the platform you find Hobbs on. Head through the door and you will now be in the Conveyor Hub.
