Twitch Streamer Dies During Charity Stream
In some sad news today, it has been reported that Brian Vigneault AKA “Poshybrid”, a Twitch streamer, has died during a 24 hour charity marathon for the Make-A-Wish foundation. 35 year old Vigneault was playing World of Tanks when he “stepped out for a smoke” at around 22 hours into the marathon.
After not returning, moderators from the channel attempted to contact Vigneault a few hours later, but instead were answered by someone claiming to be a detective from his local police department. Kotaku has confirmed that the death is being investigated by authorities, but foul play is not suspected.
As a well liked member of the World of Tanks community, many fans have expressed their grief for the loss of Poshybrid. Vigneault’s gaming clan, FAME posted a tribute to the streamer on their Facebook (no longer active).
“Sad news from Virginia beach, one of the most famous NA streamers and a member of our clan Poshybrid has passed away at the age of 35, we just can not find words to describe how sad is this moment for all of us and for sure this game will not be the same without the legend. Maybe the saddest lines can not really be written, and the saddest thoughts can not really be uttered, let’s all hope that he is in a better place right now and may his soul Rest in Peace, he will never be forgotten… a person who stays in our hearts never dies…”
Vigneault leaves behind three children as well as a close knit community over on Twitch. In honor of Vigneault, his channel has be converted into a memorial of him. Over the years, Vigneault raised more than $10,000 for charity.
