Where to Find the Manhole Hook in Paper Mario The Origami King
One of the hub areas in Paper Mario: The Origami King is Toad Town. This town is overrun by giant Goombas when you first visit it, but will become teeming with friendly NPCs once you advance the story. To advance the story you need to first make your way through the sewer connecting Toad Town to the castle. This can be done by finding the Manhole Hook useful item. To find this useful item use our where to find the Manhole Hook guide for Paper Mario: The Origami King below.
Where to Find the Manhole Hook
To get started go to the sewer grate and interact with it to learn we need a manhole hook to open the lid. This manhole hook is hidden somewhere in Toad Town. To advance the story we need to find this hook. According to the Shy Guy nearby the manhole hook is somewhere in town and you should ask another shy guy about its location. The Shy Guy you need to speak to is the one that can be saved by going through the window into the backyard of the house near where the sewer grate is. Go to this NPC and speak to him to learn the location of the Manhole Hook.
The Manhole Hook can be found inside the red building next to the docks on the right side of Toad Town. To access this building you need to first fill in the Not-Bottomless Hole that is blocking its entrance. Once this is filled in you can go inside the red building.
How to Get the Manhole Hook
In the red building you can pull the Koopa kid out of the box to the right. Once you’ve done this hit the shelf on the right wall with your hammer to knock a box off of the shelf that reveals a 1,000-Fold Arms spot. Use this spot to peel the middle wall to reveal a doorway. Go through the doorway into the next room and defeat the Goombas there. Once defeated jump onto the green cart and make your way over it to the left. Turn and hit the cart with your hammer so it goes to the right. Climb the cart to reach the shelves where the Manhole Hook is.
Once you have the Manhole Hook head back to the sewer grate and use it to open it. Descend down the now open hole to reach the area called Graffiti Underground.
